About EB Clock Repair
Decades of experience. One standard: For Service You Expect. We do it right.
Background
The Shop
My name is Ernest Nielsen and I have been serving antique timepieces for decades. What started as a passion for mechanical timepieces in Highschool grew into a full Time, full-service repair and restoration shop in Texas. I have training from the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) in the United States & British Horology Institute (BHI) in England. What started as a little shop in a spare bedroom grew into a Full stand alone business that serviced hundreds and hundreds of timepieces from all over the United States. I retired and sold that business and moved to England where I continued to do repair there. I have now returned to the U.S. where my son and his family reside bringing my Horology services to the Greater North Carolina area.
Every clock I repair is treated with the same high standard and professionalism, whether it's a $50 shelf clock purchased from somewhere like Ebay or Market Place or a precious family heirloom that has been in the family for generations. We believe that all mechanical clocks deserve to run, and that the craftsmanship that went into making them deserves to be preserved in the same manner as when it was built, so many years ago.
We work on all types of mechanical clocks: American and European movements, grandfather and tall case clocks, mantel and bracket clocks, cuckoo clocks, 400-day Anniversary and antique wall clocks. If it has a mainspring, a weight or a pendulum, we can service it for you so it can be enjoyed by you and generations to come.
What We Stand For
Our Values
Honest Assessments
We tell you what your clock actually needs — not what generates the most revenue. If a simple cleaning will fix it, that's what we recommend.
Warranted Work
Every repair is backed by our 2 year warranty. We stand behind what we do. If something isn't right, bring it back.
Period-Correct Technique
We use proper horological methods and period appropriate parts and techniques whenever possible. Many of the tools and machines that I use are well over 100 years old. We don't take shortcuts that compromise a clock's integrity.
No Surprises
You'll receive a written estimate before any work begins. The price we quote is the price you pay.
